Abstracts derive in some cases from a real natural or metropolitan element bringing about an extreme descriptive minimalism and in other cases, they are complete expressions of emotions and expressions…how can you describe an explosion of life? What colour and what form can represent courage and other feelings? I try to answer these questions with my abstracts…
This way I give input of form colour and I tell my story. The magic will be a marriage between the sensation created by me and the sensation interpreted by the person looking at the artwork that can be similar or also fly off in different directions but this is precisely the great beauty of the freedom of an abstract artwork.
My artworks “Gears” and “Gears Evolution” are part of the abstract field and for these I was inspired by my father’s work as he was the director of his electromechanical firm… he invented machinery needed to automatically assemble electronic circuits and various other types of components. For this reason, jokingly, I called him “Lionard”…because he reminded me of Leonardo da Vinci. So, I grew up seeing all kinds of machinery, bolts and gears letting them enter deeply into the soul arriving all the way to my painting. I’m very fond of these artworks precisely because they evoke this sweet paternal memory.
